DINEEN PARK
A collaboration with the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County Parks to develop the Dineen Park Master Plan to create a vision for the future park for an underserved neighborhood on Milwaukee's west side. Dineen Park, a 59-acre community park owned and maintained by Milwaukee County Parks, is in a residential neighborhood on the northwest side of the City of Milwaukee. The park’s master plan provides a framework for the City of Milwaukee and the County Parks to develop a green infrastructure park designed to mitigate localized flooding and stormwater issues while continuing to serve the recreational and environmental needs of the residents of the surrounding neighborhood. The plan implementation saw the construction of a new baseball field with improved player amenities, a new accessible playground, a shade shelter, and a frisbee golf course. Key to the park redevelopment was the improved flood mitigation, stream and shoreline restoration, and the dredging of the park pond.
