TERRA provided site/civil, landscape, and structural engineering services associated with the development of a new office building in Chicago’s West Loop. The scope of the work included the replacement of existing curbs and curb ramps, the repair of existing sidewalks, the relocation of lighting, and stormwater management.
Our team’s structural scope included the design of several retaining walls up to 24’ in height and various modifications to the adjacent bridge and retaining walls to tie into the site design. Existing soil conditions were very poor and required the use of lightweight cellular concrete fill to limit long-term settlement.
