The conversion of big box retail to a healthcare facility call center and community service center brought the opportunity to create staff spaces interior to the center with courtyards connected to dining areas and an outdoor protected courtyard that is elevated over a former loading dock. The courtyards offered opportunities to take a quick break or have lunch while surrounded by natural landscape. Highlights include a flagstone patio area, permeable pavers, and a white noise water feature. The civil scope included updating the building frontage with a new sidewalk and a drop-off zone, retrofitting existing building exits with accessible ramps, and providing stormwater management within the courtyards.
