STEVENSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
TERRA designed site improvements and landscape zoning compliance for a new annex addition to an existing Chicago Public School. The annex addition creates a new courtyard garden with permeable paving that is the centerpiece of the design and offers an attractive space for students and teachers to congregate and sit. The raised planters and foundation landscaping feature native plant species. Rainwater is harvested from the extensive green roof in two wooden cisterns for use in watering the site's landscaping. The project achieved LEED Gold.
